During the period of restoration of the cities and villages of Belarus destroyed by the war in the city of Brest in December 1944, the FTS(factory training school) No. 35 of builders was formed. The first director of FTS No. 35 was Vasily Ivanovich Turkin. The FTS was formed from among children left without parents during the war, as well as children from poor families. Its base enterprise was Department No. 27 of defensive construction. Classes were held in a hut-type room. Over the course of six months, teenagers were trained in simple professions: white-wood carpenter, carpenter, plasterer, plumber, bricklayer and stove maker.
To accommodate the school FTS No. 35, residential buildings were allocated on the st. Kuibysheva, two-story residential building No. 25, one-story houses No. 46, 44, 42 with all the buildings in the courtyards, estates and tree plantations. The rooms on 26 Pushkin Street were provided by FTS No. 35 to accommodate workshops.
In 1946, the FTS had two workshops: the carpentry shop was located on 22 Sovetskaya Street, and the metalwork shop was located on 52 Pushkinskaya Street.
In 1955, FTS No. 35 was renamed into FTS No. 12, and in 1956 was renamed into building school No. 12.
